To demonstrate that nuclear reactors can be built faster and more economically than they have been in the past, US Department of Energy Office Nuclear is sponsoring development a small reactor called Transformational Challenge Reactor (TCR) [1–2]. An important part design licencing process new validation software used to analyze using established physics benchmarks. This paper discusses neutronics model four preliminary designs TCR core [2]. Because uses innovative technology methods, comparable benchmarks are limited or do not exist.
